Indians in Malaysia celebrated the 133rd birth anniversary of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar by joining the events organised by Dr Ambedkar Welfare Organization of Malaysia in Shah Alam, Selangor, which also included the 5th Dr Ambedkar International Convention on 14-15 April 2024.
Federal Minister of Human Resources of Malaysia, Mr.Steven Sim Chee Keong, as the Chief Guest, delivered the key note address. Mr Steven Sim highlighted Dr Ambedkar’s vision and ideals, as well as their continued relevance. Dr Bhimrao Yashwant Ambedkar, grandson of Babasaheb Dr. BR Ambedkar also addressed the gathering.
Speaking on the occasion, Honerable B. N. Reddy, India’s High Commissioner in Malaysia, lauded the efforts of Dr.Ambedkar Welfare Organization headed by Datuk K.Panjamurthi, in their mission to promote the principles and values championed by Dr.Ambedkar.
Senator YB Saraswathy Kandasami, Federal Deputy Ministry of Unity & Patron of Dr.Ambedkar Welfare Organisation and Mr OMS Thiagarajan, Patron of Dr. Ambedkar Welfare Organization graced the occasion.
