Dr. Ambedkar International Mission
Dr. Ambedkar International Mission (AIM)
About Us:
We are a socio-cultural organization, spread across the globe, committed to realizing Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s dream of an egalitarian Indian society inspired by the Indian constitution framework. The organization cherishes the dream of making the world a better place for humanity, based on the principals of “Liberty, Fraternity and Equality” as envisioned by the founding fathers of modern society.
AIM was formed in 1994 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia by the Non Resident Indians under the able and visionary leadership of Mr. Rajkumar Kamble with a group of expatriate (Non Resident Indians) Ambedkarites sharing a common vision to spread Dr.Ambedkar’s struggle and philosophy.
Objective:
Our primary aim is to unite and consolidate the Ambedkarites globally to help uplift the downtrodden masses in India, with focus on the most exploited group identified as Dalits and formerly known as Untouchables in the pursuit of forming an equitable society.
AIM also provides an excellent ground for social interaction and bonding, both for families as well as individuals. The importance of this cannot be underestimated as it empowers an individual as well as a family with the comforting reassurance provided through our own cultural platform. Most importantly, as part of their upbringing, our children get an opportunity to absorb our Indian Buddhist culture and philosophy, which helps in making them compassionate and good global citizens. It also helps the Non Resident Ambedkarites to create a cultural identity outside India; which again provided a moral boost to the Dalits in India also.
It is also very important to note that AIM is essentially an organization of intellectuals from Ambedkarite community living abroad. The intellectuals are professionals such as Engineers, Doctors, Lawyers, IT professionals, Management Consultants, scientists holding PhDs from prestigious universities of the world. AIM is purely an intellectual organization without any political affiliations.
As part of its’ operational agenda, AIM carries out seminars, symposiums on Dr.Ambedkar’s struggle and his philosophy in prestigious universities across the world, to sensitize the academic with the social struggles of the Dalits and Dr. Ambedkar’s role in uplifting them.
AIM has played a pioneering role in providing an international platform for opening up dialogue for the international Ambedkarite community. It organized 5 (five) international conventions dedicated to Dr.Ambedkar; namely in 1998 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 2011 again in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the third one in 2014 in Paris, FRANCE, Fourth convention was held in 2023 at Fukuoka, Japan and the 5th international convention was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2024.
Our Inspiration:

Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, also known as Babasaheb, was an Indian jurist, political leader, Buddhist activist, philosopher, thinker, anthropologist, historian, orator, prolific writer, economist, scholar, editor, revolutionary and the revivalist of Buddhism in India. He was also the chief architect of the Indian Constitution.
Dr. B. R. Ambedkar
April 14, 1891 – December 6, 1956
“Freedom of mind is the real freedom.
A person whose mind is not free though he may not be in chains, is a slave, not a free man.
One whose mind is not free, though he may not be in prison, is a prisoner and not a free man.
One whose mind is not free though alive, is no better than dead.
Freedom of mind is the proof of one’s existence.”
AIM draws its strength from the philosophy and work of the tallest human rights champion of India, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar. AIM has been one of the pioneer Ambedkariet Organizations outside India, consolidating Ambedkarites and promulgating Babasaheb’s teachings, philosophy and vision worlwide.

International Advocacy
Global Level Representation:
As a strategic part of this endeavour, we have taken our cause to the UN in collaboration with the Global Forum of Communities Discriminated based on Work and Descent (GFoD), which is an global umbrella organization composed of representatives from all the similar communities across the world who face the same discrimination, denial of opportunities, physical and gender atrocities and enforced endogamy while being a numerical minority in a hostile majority. Uniting these different communities like the Somalis from Somalia, Kilombola from Brazil, Roma from Europe, Haratins from Moritiana, Burakumins from Japan and many more scattered globally has expanded our Dalit fraternity globally, amplified our voices for struggle and provided opportunity to knock on UN with a much broader and compelling agenda, while showcasing Indian constitution as a championing this cause with it’s enshrined safeguards and other provisions to bring the DWD Indian communities into the mainstream. Owing to out significant and impactful activism globally, AIM is a significant partner in this campaign
